Juanita Line Obituary

Juanita “Nete” Jean Line, 95, was joyfully welcomed into heaven on June 8, 2025, at 11:45 a.m. She was surrounded by her family who loved her so much. She was born to Lester A. and Mabel Irene (Miller) Metcalfe on October 28, 1929, in Scotts Crossing, OH. Juanita was the heart of her family. She never chose a favorite and when asked, she always replied with a twinkle in her eye and a big smile on her face, “I love you all.”

On February 7, 1948, she married Billy J. Line, who preceded her in death on June 11, 2006.

Juanita is survived by three children, Candy (Denny) Clayton of Sidney, Brenda (Tom) McKee of Delphos, and Les (Melody) Line of Ft. Jennings; seven grandchildren, Angie (Dan) Chung-Kirby of Celina, Lisa (John) Thiel of London, Thom (Jamie) McKee of Delphos, Chris (Sarah) Clayton, and Adam (Christina) Clayton both of Columbus, Brandon Line, and Stephanie Line both of Ft. Jennings; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Alex, and Elizabeth Chung, Kix and Jake Thiel, Kole and Ben McKee, Drew and Lucas Clayton, Vanessa and Leo Clayton, and Max Line; and nephews, Billy (Rox) and Terry (Sadie) Metcalfe and their families.

Juanita was preceded in death by a brother, William Albert Metcalfe; sister-in-law, Dorothy Metcalfe; nephew, Nicholas Metcalfe; grandsons-in-law, Howard (Angie) Chung, Steven (Stephanie) Erceg, and a great-granddaughter, Fiona Louise Clayton.

Juanita worked at Jack’s Cafeteria and Montgomery Ward, but she is best known as a long-time employee at Beckman’s Drapery Stitch. Juanita was a member of Delphos First Assembly of God Church and was a cherished friend to many.

Juanita valued her family above anything else. Up until she passed away, she never forgot a single birthday, and always called to sing “Happy Birthday” in her sweet voice to the person of the day. Everyone looked forward to their special birthday moment.

Juanita was the most loving and loyal supporter of her family. She never complained, not once, when things were difficult, and she was always there to hold a hand when you needed her. She chose to put family first and took such good care of herself so she could be there for them. Her generosity was endless. If everyone lived like Juanita, the world would be so much happier, peaceful, and loving.

Her cooking was the best-her roast with potatoes and carrots, spaghetti, and anything with vegetables (she loved them all!) made every family dinner feel like a feast. There was always plenty leftover! She loved card games and would always volunteer to partner with the weakest player, cheering them on whether they were winning or not. She was a genius at crossword puzzles and could spend hours piecing together jigsaw puzzles.

Juanita will be missed deeply by her family. We have been challenged to carry on her legacy of family-centered living and faith in Jesus.

Visitation will be held at Delphos First Assembly of God on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. with a funeral service directly following. Reverend Dr. Angela Chung-Kirby will be officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delphos First Assembly of God or Grand Lake Hospice in Juanita’s honor.
