James “Jim” Allen Hammons, 84, of Delphos, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 23, 2026. Jim was born April 29, 1941, to Albert Hammons and Ethel (John) Lucas who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his beloved sister, Dorothy Parsons; and niece, Kimberly Tergerson.
Jim is survived by his wife, Judy (Kohorst); children, Margaret Gauthier, Leann (John) Bloom, Tina Hesseling, Dorothy Andrus, Dan Hesseling, and Janel (Stan) Donley; grandchildren, Ashlee, Damien, Nichole, Heather, Jerid, Craig, Kayla, Alexis, Axi, and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Sadie, Joseph, Delilah, Steven, Mia, Aubrey, Jordan Jr., Jace, Jaelynn, Gavin, Seth, Shelby, Raven, and Cecil; great-great-grandchild, Willow; nephews, Mitchell and Michael Parsons.
Jim served during peace time in the United States Marines and then re-upped and finished out his military career in the United States Navy. He loved fishing with his grandchildren and taking day trips with his wife, Judy. Jim’s family and the Lord meant everything to him.
There will be a fellowship dinner at the Delphos Wesleyan Church at a later date.
