Harold N. “Nick” Sterling, 84, of Delphos, passed away with his family at his side on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Delphos, OH, to Charles and Jesse Bell (Follas) Sterling. They both preceded him in death. Nick was united in marriage to Phyllis Louise Johnson on October 24, 1959. She survives in Delphos.
Nick is survived by children, Tony Lewis, Lorrie (Deane Reynolds), Sterling, and Stacy (Keith) Bigelow; a grandson, Cole Steele, and one brother Lonnie Sterling.
Nick was preceded in death by a son, Harold N. “Nickie” Sterling Jr.; five brothers, Frank, Vernnie, George, Lester “Bummer”, and Lewis "Pee Wee" Sterling; and a sister, Mary Rigdon.
Nick worked for Harters making office chairs for 30 years, and after their closing he went to work for Federal Mogul in Van Wert as a machine operator. He served in the United States Air Force for 8 years. Nick truly enjoyed spending time in his workshop where he mastered his woodworking skills, becoming a master carpenter. One can see his woodworking skills, as they are on display at Delphos Wesleyan Church, where Nick was a long time member and volunteer.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Delphos Wesleyan Church. Pastor Steve Haddix will officiate. There will be a luncheon after the service at the church. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Delphos Wesleyan Church.
