Donald Ream Jr. Obituary

Donald R. Ream Jr., 70, of Elida passed away Tuesday February 3, 2026 at his residence.  He was born January 5, 1956 in Lima to Donald and Ruby (Cavinder) Ream. They both preceded him in death. On April 16, 1977, He married Beverly Klausing. She preceded him in death on February 16, 2019.  

He is survived by his sisters: Peggy VanMeter of Delphos, Carol (Rick) Wierwille of Spencerville, brother in law: Chuck Wiechart of Delphos, brother in law: Leon Hopkins of Mississippi, nieces and nephews: Wesley VanMeter of Delphos, Amy West of Van Wert, Brian (Melanie) Wierwille of North Carolina, Jeremy (Brandi) Hopkins of Mississippi , Rachel Childers of Mississippi, Brad (Shelby) Wiechart of Celina, Lori (James Gerken) Wiechart of New Mexico, Steven (Jamie) Wiechart of Delphos. and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.  

Donald is also preceded in death by his sister: LouAnn Hopkins, brother in-law: Michael VanMeter, and sister in-law: Becky Wiechart. 

Donald was a self proclaimed rock hound and was often outside hunting for arrowheads and fishing.  He liked farm animals and feeding his feral cats.  He enjoyed collecting small antiques and many other items.  Well known for making his chocolate birthday cakes for everyone in the family. He especially loved spoiling and teasing his nieces and nephews.  

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen county humane society.
